“Assumptions. The mother of all f**k-ups.” – so they say.
I made one too many over the weekend and fretted myself silly until the husband saved me from my assumed misery when I finally decided to spill the beans. I learnt that if you embrace these assumptions, maybe life wouldn’t seem so bad after all.
Meanwhile, the hubs knew how to cheer us both up with some Polo Ralph over the weekend to prep up for the coming Autumn. He landed himself a classic black while I went the opposite with a white skinny. The leather jacks and cashmere sweats were gorgeously tempting too, but no. The wallet couldn’t afford it and my inner voice to save for a nice and sturdy work bag (I am hoping to land in Milan) was incredibly overpowering.
Mum also got back from her very adventurous and fun-filled Taiwan trip with the Joy Luck Club folks on Saturday night. It was lovely seeing her walk out of the arrival hall with so much zest. I missed her so much and had a week’s worth of updates to fill her in! Which resulted in me talking non-stop while on the journey back home.
In between, we caught a movie, met up with friends we hadn’t seen since the wedding (eagerly asking when we intended to start a family) and went over to godparent’s to catch up with godma and her post-birthday celebrations which we unfortunately had to miss due to another commitment.
Bonding time can be so much fun.
