The much anticipated first Christmas celebration (for me this yr) and with the Queenies finally happened last evening. I was feeling terrible initially – a trip to the doc’s in the morning and back-to-back meetings to clear; but with much hope I managed to sail through the day and made it to our meet.
Though not everyone could make it (Spanky said 3/5 ain’t bad), it was utterly enjoyable nonetheless. Ning turned up at the wrong venue for the first time, we were shock to find out that Balcony don’t refill tea pots with hot water, and I took the big step & re-opened up to a group of friends again, shared & gave them a bigger part of me this year :trusting them to keep something very close to heart & personal. Think I was near to tears at one point, but I held it in somehow – concluding what fabulous friends they were and happy that I could finally learn to trust good friends again. 🙂
Oh oh oh, we had a wonderful surprise from P too! She was waaaay thoughtful and took the dedication to give the Queenies a very beautifully packaged (pink paper laced with felt) & thoughtful present. Spanky & I totally LOVED it. We finally have our very own Queenie’s game to (call our own) & play for house gatherings in future! Yayhoo! We also managed to meet P, albeit a very short one and were cooing and ahhing over how sweet (sunshine) and friendly a person P was.
Perhaps because it was near the close of 2008, yesterday seemed like the occasion to spill all our personal stories, secrets, what-nots! And boy were we glad to have each other’s ears, understanding and advice.
As we pre-maturely closed 2008 and ring in 2009 with a toast before ending the night, we toasted our glasses to more wonderful years of friendship and that may the good things never come to an end. 🙂
I love you girls.
