I finally got to finish up a storybook I’ve been meaning to complete in a long time, but just never had the opportunity. There was always more work to finish, replying personal mails, spending time with the husband, catching up on sleep, spending time with my thoughts etc. So when I finally sat myself down for a good 90 minutes earlier, I was absolutely satisfied with the enjoyable read. Surprising how much good a chick lit can do for my soul. 🙂
I’ve been enjoying one too many media vendors luncheons of late, most taking the opportunity to buy me and Bren farewell luncheons apart from the usual catch-up. The food’s been good (loving the Japanese restaurants we get invited to), company’s been good, catching up is good: and at the end of it all, just makes me regret letting work take precedence over our previous lunch appointments – these salespeople are really nice folks! As the weeks go by, I’m also starting to fret for my colleagues with the shortage of manpower and hire freeze. But at the same time, quite excited at not knowing what to expect in less than a month. I got a feeling Christmas is going to be especially busy this year – with many of the Chungs flying in to stay for a while – and getting myself familiar with work.
My aunt just opened a restaurant a week ago at Orchard Central – her 2nd restaurant specializing in grilling premium meats (the pork and beef is utterly delicious) and seafood – I’m so happy that she’s doing so well so quickly. I can’t wait to take the Queenie, Jasmean and IJ girlies there when the chance arise. I miss catching up with them so much.
In the past weeks, I’ve also been busy with a special project. It’s been tremendously tiring, having to fork out time even after long work hours or whenever we get a chance to gather, to brainstorm, discuss, decide, implement. But definitely worth the while just thinking of the final goal ahead. Even the husband has noticed how happy I am being busy of late. 😀
I’ve also been putting on some weight for no good reason lately. Must have been due to all the packs of chips and coke I’ve been consuming daily, and all the very delicious luncheons where more often than not, I end the meal with a huge serving of ice-cream. I just can’t help it. I love ice-cream too much to reject it no matter how full I may be. Grrrr. I’ve been getting grumpy in the morning of late because all the jeans just doesn’t seem to fit and I end up having to change to elastic-waist band skirts in the end. I so have to make more of an effort to start shedding the additional 4 kilos that have crept on me. Ahh, Christmas is only 2 months away!
