I know this is a tad bit late an entry considering I’m quite the movie & fashion buff. Trust me, it nearly killed me few months ago when I had to pass on The September Issue movie preview due to work.
Fast forward some months later, and into the new year – I managed to rent the movie. Maybe it was because those who watched didn’t really express much about the movie or kept saying it being a documentary-styled movie…but The September Issue literally had me and the husband glued to the screen for the entire time when I played it earlier (because we ran out of things to watch on TV while having our late Macs dinner).
And boy did I have no regrets but 100% thumbs up for the show. Though I must disclaim that this film may not necessarily be appreciated by everyone.I enjoyed this more than I did Avatar (sorry, James Cameron).
I loved the photography so much. The wit. The colours. The personalities. Didn’t really fancy the Mario photographer much – basically sugaring Anna Wintour for most of the time. But loved loved loved the locations, the pages, the words, the clothes, the rack. And Grace Coddington is AMAZING – the work, the dedication, the passion. Watching her was enough to set my goals up high for 2010 and motivation enough to drive me.
Bee Shaffer was gorgeous! I was in awe just watching her and all the beautiful people in the movie. God’s creation is perfection. And I applaud Bee for being bold in her decision to pursue what she wants in life. Although I do reckon that it’s a honor to continue the legacy – though I would think those would be really huge shoes to fill.
How I wished I was one of the many working at Vogue, though I’m also certainly sure I won’t survive a day in there. And I thought my boss was tough. Obviously what I‘ve gone through is NOTHING.
