To my sis-in-law’s advice & a quest to live life a little more holistically , I’ve mustered enough courage to call & enquire for acupuncture sessions.
I called a few today, including hospitals. You will have no idea that they charge about $390+ for 5 compulsory sessions. Yelps.
But by a stroke of blessing, I also manage to speak & make an appointment with a very nice physician (after speaking to several who sounded utterly confused), and whose located just 20 minutes walking distance from mom’s. (As part of the shortlist, I decided that I will only go for those who have available slots today to satisfy my impatient self). Mr. Sunny was extremely patient with me over the phone, and even assured me to try it out first before deciding if I want to come back for future sessions.
I had wee bit difficulty trying to locate the clinic initially, but did so eventually. It was nice that the physician actually remembered speaking to me over the phone earlier. He took my pulse, and went through some treatments that he does (apparently his weight loss acupuncture is reputable!). He then asked if I was ready. I remember being a little queasy as I lied on the bed and the next thing I knew, he said that the needles were in and I barely felt anything except for the initial ‘ant biting’ prick of some.
It was as soothing as what most people related in the forums, and I found myself dozing off quite soon after…only to be woken up because my session was over after 25 minutes.
It was quite an experience. A nice one in fact. I wondered why I had misconceptions of the pain & all initially. I suppose no one really likes the thought of needles aye.
I left the clinic feeling happy with myself & my new achievement. 🙂
one CHECK! off the list.
