Finally, I could get everyone from the ex-team cleared for a Wednesday lunch. It was a short one for me due to some last minute shifts in meetings from the previous day (unforeseen circumstances, as they call it!) but heck, I’ve been wanting to round us up for a good solid catch-up for the longest time. So I didn’t want to re-schedule it any further, after promising everyone that the magic would happen the moment they confirmed their availability.
Opposed to Vince’s suggestion at Uluru, I made reservations at the week old p.s.cafe at Ash Park (ann siang hill) which was just a 7-minutes walk from the office. Especially after Shiv went “what? Uluru again? haha” on Monday.
Thank goodness I made reservations, because turns out that the new p.s. baby on the block was really pretty cozy, in terms of seating capacity on the 2nd floor. The 1st floor was practically seats by the bar (for walk-ins who didn’t make a reservation but insisted on dining in), while the 3rd floor was sort of a private space usually reserved for corporate functions (IDEA, ting ting ting!).
Undoubtedly, the place was plushly designed & decorated as with the other outlets. You could also tell that no expenses were spared in achieving the goal of dining in decadence. Which was also a very smart move, being located within walking distance from creative houses, advertising agencies and media hub.
So, the food. Each of us ordered a main, aside from sharing a side of truffle fries. The mains were passable, as with the other outlets where you dine more for the ambience than the food (in my case), while truffle fries were a disappointment. I reckon House still wins my favourite truffle fries hands down.
Wincent shared with us his Spain adventures, and “living to tell a story of being deliberately robbed”, while Shiv rattled on about Bali, Bel on moving house, Kirk on upcoming wedding plans and so on.
It was lovely getting everyone together again. And I’m looking to book a table at the Fullerton Bay Hotel for our next gathering soon!
