I was thrilled to try a tube of Maybelline – The Falsies mascara that a friend brought back from the U.S recently when she came all the way to my office just to pass me the one-and-only-extra-tube she had some 6 weeks back.
Firstly, it was by beauty brand Maybelline – which was also my first makeup brand since I was 14 and they were known for their reasonably-priced and effective mascara products.
Secondly, it wasn’t available in Singapore (oh, why!!!) which made it all the more tempting and strange enough…it wasn’t available in Japan (aka. the land of cosmetics) too!
I had commented over one lunch (to that friend) that her lashes looked really long and lush (lots of volume). And the next thing I knew, she offered to pass me her spare tube (although she still regrets not buying more pieces of it today) to let me try and oh goodness, I have to say it is probably one of Maybelline’s best I’ve tried.
All you need is ONE coat and you’re good to go!
Here’s proof of the results (photos from recent Christmas party):
We (and my friend) were a little bummed to know that Singapore didn’t carry it, considering that it has been in the U.S for a while now and at quite cheap (US 8.90 a tube)….until a shout-out in Elle Jan issue confirmed that it will be launching in Singapore soon (yay! what took you so long Maybelline????).
