I managed to coax the husband into going with me to check out one of the shows at AFF’11 because I just couldn’t resist finding out what was inside the tent.
The last I attended a Singapore FF was in 2008 where my client was Triumph. 2nd row seats. I could live with that.
I wonder why people don’t bother dressing up, if not for the energy of the festival at least for themselves. How is it that tee + shorts + slippers combo is considered anything stylish if you’re not a celebrity. Hollywood celebrity or model off-duty.
I wasn’t too impressed after getting into the show. Husband wasn’t too impressed with some of the models. I think he expected a ‘Heidi Klum standard’.
Our highlight probably came post the show – we managed to land ourselves a very short waiting time & a seat at Ippudo Ramen @ Mandarin Gallery AND 20% off a closed door event at Topshop (some social event) where the husband got me 2 items although we were supposed to only be shopping for a birthday gift.
Then we got back home, had some friends over, popped champagne & a bottle of wine. Had the most amazing Japanese barbecued fish we attempted, along with slices of smoked salmon & salami. Rum n Raisins ice cream from Udders to top it off all. We blasted music till 2am and laughed away. I think the neighbours must have thought we’re mad.
What a night. Saturday night that is.
