I had an awkward conversation with the husband earlier this evening.
It started when he saw me walking strangely around the room and asked why I was moving in such a manner. I told him that my pelvic region was still hurting crazily since yesterday and that a gd friend of mine (mom of 2) mentioned that it might be due to little chungkin starting to descend & his head starting to ‘engaged’, hence the pain.
Lo & behold, the husband started getting a little anxious and asked if I was dilated (this was after I also mentioned about having another new symptom). I told him that I wouldn’t have a clue even if I was and he asked if he should check me down there.
“What would you be checking for”, I asked to which he said “well, what do gynaes check for usually?”. I didn’t have an answer to that though it was awkwardly hilarious for my concerned husband to want help in any way possible, even if he didn’t know what to look out for.
If I needed to be checked down there, I wanted it done properly & professionally by my gyane. Besides, I’ve heard it is definitely not pleasant when the check happens, regardless how gentle the gynae tries to be.
And what was curious husband expecting to look for anyway? Baby’s head?
I then reminded the Bo that we have a gynae visit scheduled later this week, and that I’d check in with the gynae then. The awkward conversation ended. Phew.
