It’s amazing, how fast these little ones grow. One moment they’re sleeping all day, between fussing for a diaper change and a feed and the next, they’re a month old and outgrowing whatever clothes they’ve been wearing?
Liam turned a month old yesterday and we had a celebration for the little one, well actually more for us (hah!).
Mama here kind of underestimated how long feeding and changing would take and as a result, we ended up arriving at the venue 50 minutes late (yes, I had a earful of nag from the daddy).
Thankfully everyone was understanding & patient with the fashionably-late-due-to-baby situation and welcomed us with so much of warmth & love.
We were also absolutely blessed that Liam slept through 80% of his celebration, so this allowed the Bo & I to catch a bit of a breather with our party guests without having to worry about the young man fussing for a feed, change or cuddle. And needless to say, he was indeed the star of the party as everyone took turns to have a look at him in his pram, stealing photos with him; and admired the amazing photo montage BR (his godmama) helped put up at the venue.
The balloons that filled the venue were beautiful too (thanks again BR!) as with the amazing balloon sculptures my grandaunt (who does this with so much passion and energy) entertained both young & old with.
It was a lovely event and one that definitely left us three knackered by the end of the evening.
Plus later that night, our little champ surprised us even more. He had been suffering from mild constipation for about 2 days and last night after a nice baby massage, managed to release his last 3-4 days worth of pasty poo which got me and the Bo cheering and celebrating as we cleaned up.
Oh, the kind of things newborn makes their parents get all excited about :p
Happy 1 month, my little Liam.
Hey there, happy one month birthday to Liam! So he has already outgrown the newborn clothes? I thought those are up to 3 months old? I hope we didn’t get too many clothes for our baby. But we do have clothes for 3-6 months old stand by, just in case. Anyway were those blue cupcakes for the guests? Can’t see the pictures clearly on iPhone, unfortunately.
Thanks! Yes, he has outgrown newborn clothes and the 3 months old one are starting to get fitting on him. And yes, those blue cupcakes were for the guests. They were lovely, unlike those sinfully sweet cupcakes sold outside, these were home baked and received many compliments from our guests 🙂
OMG! Baby seriously grows very fast! Now I’m wondering whether we have too many newborn clothes. Think I’ve to launder the 3-6 months clothes. Btw, does TMC provide towels for you and your husband when you stayed at the hospital?
Yes they do! Thankfully I only bought less than 10 newborn pieces and more 3-6 months ones. TMC provided towels but they were the shorter/hand towels sort you use for sports to wipe off perspiration? Husband brought his own towel in the end…
Ok, I guess I’ve to bring my own bath towel. I now have to pack 2 bags. I’m also wondering whether to bring along water and snacks. When you were in the delivery suite, were you or your husband able to get water from the nurse? Btw, went for consultation with Loh on Friday. He now has water dispenser and TV set up in his clinic, but TV only showing Mr Bean comedy show!! (I forgot to ask him if he was a fan.) And guess what? Lady M is pregnant. I saw her assisting at the counter dressed in this stretchy maternity dress. Even though the bump is not obvious, I can spot a maternity dress a mile away. Anyway I’m seeing Loh this Friday, I’ll have the cervical dilation check. He told us during the scan on last Friday that the baby resembles my husband. I was like, “how can you tell? His face is squashed!”
Yup, bring your own bath towel definitely. 🙂 Unless you opt to stay in one of the suites of course then perhaps they’ll throw in a hotel-worthy towel in the package too. :p
Oh don’t worry about the number of bags, I had 3 which had the husband going ?!?!?!. But one of them was for Cordlife so I guess that makes me have 2 bags too. Wow, a TV set-up in the clinic aye? I guess he felt it was necessary considering how long patients need to wait to have to see him.
And oh yes! Was about to tell u Lady M is preggers as I read in the forum. Strange thing is when I consulted her twice last month, couldn’t even see the bump and she was looking so good I wouldn’t have suspected a thing!
Let me know how Friday goes with the dilation check and if you ended up throwing him a kick in the face :p
I’m actually surprised he commented that because when I said oh goodness, baby has husband’s nose he said “i didn’t say anything ah…”. Hmm…
Keep me posted on birth announcement please!
