If there’s one thing I absolutely unappreciated about the Bo when it comes to cafe haunts and eating out, it’s that we almost always never get to try the desserts.
The fella has never been a fan of sweets since the day we met …so thank golly for sweet-tooth girlfriends and their enthusiasm when it comes to reserving space for desserts during our meet-ups.
Today I was in for a (much-needed) treat. The week didn’t start out well – the little man had a fever that wouldn’t stay low-grade, I had puke all over me the moment we arrived at the clinic warranting an immediate detour back home for a shower down, his temperature finally subsided after the first dose of paracetamol which we immediately requested for when told that there was a 3-hr wait to see doc…only to spike up after meds wore its effects, sponging him endlessly to bring it down by a few decimal points which thankfully worked…etc.
Amidst all that rushing about, I hankered for a breather. I managed to get one, thanks to the mil. I got word that talented baking goddesses Diana, Mabel & Lynn were sharing their home-baked delights over tea at Diana’s and I absolutely couldn’t miss out on this date.
I shamelessly brought nothing but my appetite. And oh my, those cakes & cookies were worth every calorie. Suffice to say, I went home with a very happy tummy, and was all charged up to shower more cuddles to my sick-yet-actively-trying-to-walk-and-hard-at-play son.
It was definitely a blessing to be able to meet up with such ridiculously talented girlfriends, savor their awesome baked goods and be in good company all at the same time.
Till the next!
No guesses for what I’m snacking on now while watching Mad Men, and no mentioning about my weight gain the next time you see me!
