I started the weekend being officially unemployed. Wasn’t how I anticipated spending my weekend just a week back, but on hindsight it was probably the best outcome I needed. And while the stress of everything accumulated prior caused the worst outbreak I’ve had ever in my life (mum and the Bo can attest) to explode fearlessly on my face, I’m thankful that everything worked out nicely and timely. We parted on amicable ways. There was closure. And I left feeling lighthearted and excited about 2 major (book & site) projects that I managed to wrap up as my swan song. I will miss being challenged, enriched, content creating, soaking in new knowledge at an insane speed and possibly fretting over what to wear in the mornings for a while to come but I know that when the time is right and calls for it, the stars will align again to open up new collaborations.
So this weekend, apart from celebrating my timely opportunity of being able to work on stuff that need my attention – like weaning our littlest fella to solids (exciting times ahead!!!), putting our new house hunting into more concrete plans, possibly planning a 3rd birthday party for a boy who keeps requesting for one (how can I not!!!) and getting back to the books; I’m looking forward to more Chinese New Year feasting and catch-up sessions with people that I hold dear to.
We had a super fun #exzorceist CNY gathering at the ex-boss’s gorgeous home earlier and tomorrow will have us lo-heing and spending time with another family.
Here’s wishing you another splendid weekend as the CNY celebrations continue and if you didn’t win yesterday’s 12 million Hong Bao draw, don’t worry…I feel the same way. High 5!
