Our dream of having a place to call our own is finally coming true in a few days’ time!
Yep, we’re moving (again)! Although this time round it’ll be to an even smaller space…which means we will have to exercise creativity in maximising play areas for the kids! Can’t wait to see how that pans out. I still can’t believe that it’s been a year since we last packed/unpacked out of boxes. Where did time go?
I was initially concerned with how Liam might take to news of the move especially since we just did a big one a year ago which took weeks of adjusting and settling in, and lots of tears. Thankfully, he’s been very excited and enthusiastic about this move so far, and been actively involved in all our furniture and appliance shopping trips, such as reminding us how the TV must have youtube. Heh.
And as excited as we are and as exhausted as we’ve been for the past few weeks – because who knew house viewings and furniture shopping could be that energy consuming! – I’m a little weepy that we’re moving out.
I’ll miss my ever so smiley grandma whose always so ready to take over and play with Ollie in the mornings regardless how early he wakes (even at 5.30am!!!). I’ll miss the convenience of the express bus which takes me from my door step to my office’s door step without needing to bring a brolly even when it rains. I’ll miss my favourite eating spots along with the 24hr supermarket and wet market which are all within 10 minutes walking distance. And I’ll miss spontaneous hugs and nags from my mum because you know…she’s mum.
The good news is that we’ve intentionally chose a location that’s a very short drive to mum’s, so I definitely hope to have the boys continue spending loads of fun times with their grandma and great grandma even after the move.
Right now, I just hope I can finish packing the remaining 8 boxes within the next 2 half days. Wish me luck and lots of energy!
