It’s been 4 years since I last attended an office Christmas party. Yep, I used to lead a pretty happening lifestyle filled with Friday night drinks and Saturday soirees before my current-bigger frame and mamahood status came along. So when I received the invite to the Office party’s Naughty or Nice themed party this time round, I made all the necessary arrangements to ensure that I could go have some fun with my colleagues.
I really wanted to go dressed as lady Gaga. But then the cousin warned me, it’s either you go 200% all out with Gaga or none at all. I was advised not to go as a half-f***ed Gaga. Eventually I went as Catwoman’s distant cousin instead, since I could finally fit into pre-Ollie/post-Liam skin tight clothes (I got so tired of sucking in my tummy after the first hour, I gave up after that). But hey at least when I walked in, many could recognise what I was dressed as (and so I escaped penalty for not dressing up too, phew!) and my ex-teammate was kind enough to pay me a compliment that I looked hot. Heh, I like how he’s been training to be more forthcoming and generous with his praises considering that his wife is due in a few weeks’ time!
On Saturday, we celebrated my cutie patootie niece’s 2nd birthday. I LOVED the cake which my cousin conceptualised and how my trusted, talented baker-friend Susanne executed it.
On Sunday, we had another Christmas gathering with one of the funniest, entertaining, gorgeous, down-to-earth, supportive and kind mummy groups. We had a chiffon cake baked by Susanne too! Can’t believe how she managed to execute such an adorable cake based on the kids outfit photos. She’s truly amazing.
P/s: You have to try one of her new flavours – cheese chiffon. It’s sooooooo good!
On the unpacking front, I’m down to 2 boxes! Hip Hip Hooray! We’ve also bought and lug back our Noble Fir Christmas tree for the year (thanks to our super spacious hippo!) and am just waiting to decorate it together with the boys over the next few days. BTW, if you’ve not bought your tree yet, consider cold storage or IKEA which is way cheaper and probably has better customer service then the sucky attitude I received from Far East Flora. To think we’ve been supporting them for the last 7 years, geez!
Meanwhile, have a merry week ahead folks! Will probably update this space more frequently this month!
