And just like that the husband turned one year older, one year wiser and hopefully one year less grumpier…
We kept Bo’s birthday celebrations low-key this year – he was even aware that there was going to be a cake delivery because handling logistics for a surprise party with 2 active kids seems too much of a task for me to manage these days – by having a cozy celebration at our new home, spending lunch with mum who wanted to treat the birthday boy to his favourite Canton fare, and ending the night with some couple time to watch Ip Man 3 (I absolutely loved it! Did you?).
At some point I asked the husband if he felt “old”, to which he replied “old is gold right?” Oh that man. Never fails to make me smile despite the many frowns and angst he puts me through on an almost daily basis. A good friend often reminds me how Luke is the perfect man for me, and how it’s obvious that we have a deep love for each other despite squabbling and behaving like we’re newly weds. Heh.
Happy 42nd to my dear mr. Skywalker. May this year be the brightest and most exciting yet! Wishing you good health, plentiful smiles and laughter to fill all your days.
