There I was, staring at my final evaluation sheet after taking my measurements for my last review, in disbelief that my 3-month weight loss journey with Halley Medical Aesthetics passed so quickly, and so effortlessly.
I was a tad embarrassed, for I had only lost 3 kg out of the targeted 5kg which I was determined to shed and had set out for myself at the start; only to be tempted with the occasional drinks session with colleagues, and date nights out. It didn’t help that I kept putting off running at the gym till just 3 weeks before my final review, just so I could be hopeful about the remaining 2kg miraculously melting away.
All the ‘should haves’ and ‘could haves’ I could have done earlier to strive for better results, to show you better results, yet I didn’t.
I started to feel guilty and affected that my results weren’t “model examples” like those of slimming ads. And Dr. Terence Tan’s response couldn’t have consoled me better when he concluded that my end results, despite my best hopes, was a realistic one. Considering that I only underwent one session of CoolSculpting Treatment, went on the Mini Slim Programme, and barely did any regular exercises, my results still showed an improved difference and a realistic one.
I couldn’t agree more.
While my lack of effort may not have resulted in my ideal body shape (I can still work towards that!), my waist circumference did reduce by 7cm at the end of this journey. Importantly, I truly appreciated that this journey didn’t cause me to make drastic lifestyle changes such as skipping meals or crash diets which might have resulted in a major weight loss too quickly and possibly lead to hormonal imbalance and a sunken and haggard-looking appearance.
My weight loss journey was so gradual and comfortable throughout the 3 to 4 months, that it did not upset my body’s natural cycle (trust me, I experienced what 2 months pre-wedding crash diet did to me and paid back for it in ways I regretted). Apart from the slight sensation on the day and few days after my CoolSculpting treatment on my tummy, and of course, getting used to the initial detoxing of waste during the first week of consuming the medications, I barely felt anything at all.
It’s been 2 months since my final review, and I’m happy to share that while there’s been slight rebound in my weight after stopping the medications – I was informed by Dr Tan that this is normal – my weight/size has remained stable (as you would have seen on my Instagram posts/Instagram stories) since. I’m mindful not to overeat or overindulge on food and desserts of course, save for special occasions, and my meal portions have remained consistently similar.
I used to tease and laugh about having to go for liposuction with my friends without really understanding and realizing the risks involved. Now that I’ve been introduced to CoolSculpting – a non-surgical alternative to liposuction , I’m absolutely thankful that there’s actually a safer and effective solution to destroying fat cells using Cryolipolysis (aka. fat freeze), which I got to experience it first-hand.
Since the start of the programme, I’ve dropped approximately 1 dress size (I’m now a S/M instead of L/XL). I’ve even recently purchased some “crop-top styled” jumpsuits to wear now that the flabby tummy has reduced a fair bit.
While I may not have lost much in in kilograms, I’m pleased to see a difference in body measurements and shape. I no longer get offered seats on the train (hooray!) and I’m more confident to wear more fitting clothes, thanks to my renewed body contours.
I could go on and on in my usual natty-being-longwinded fashion, but I rather the photo below speak for itself.
Some of you have reached out in person, over emails and PM to ask for more information on the programme and I’m always happy to respond to them. After embarking on this journey, I do feel that it is important to find a doctor/clinic which you’re comfortable with and be realistic about your goals. Losing 5kg was my initial goal, and hence that was the goal I worked towards to. Obviously, I was a little bummed knowing that I only lost 3kg in total during the final review, though most of it was attributed to my laziness and procrastination to exercise.
That said, seeing the difference in having a shapelier body now has spurred me to be more consistent and diligent with keeping fit.
And because my overall belly and body size has reduced, I’m now getting a little more critical of other parts of my body such as the arms, thighs and butt as well. Perhaps, instead of paying a hefty $700+ at a new hair salon on impulse the next time (you’d faint if you hear how I went from just wanting to touch up my roots to spending that much doing a perm AND a rebond, colour, highlight all at one seating — a decision which is causing my hair to frizz up big time now.), I might consider going for another CoolSculpting treatment to address other flabby problem areas instead.
My experience with Halley Medical Aesthetics has probably got to be the most convenient, effortless weight-loss journey I’ve ever been on, and one which I didn’t feel miserable and wanted to “quit” at any point of time.
If your stubborn flab and ‘muffin top’ bother you despite your best efforts to exercise and “hide” with baggy clothing, perhaps it’s time to consider a CoolSculpting, Cryolipolisis and Mini Slim programme. We could all use a few compliments from others.
