Hi! I’m Natasha (you can call me ‘Natty’), and here’s where I share my personal, candid stories of self-discovery, parenting moments/mayhem, marriage, self-love and growing up.
I’m mum to 2 boisterous boys, an awesome wife to one of the most stubborn yet practical man I’ve ever met, and I do my best to enjoy every bit of this parenting journey, even the frustrating parts.
On the side, I also juggle between being a full-time digital/social media director, freelance consultant, and the occasional party-planner when inspiration and request strikes…to balance out the whole motherhood gig.
I ain’t no ‘pinterest’ nor ‘helicopter’ mom, although I do believe in being a hands-on mother even with the existence and enthusiasm of a super helper. After all, I’m the one who wanted kids.
How this blog started…
I’ve started blogging on Christmas day ’05 but kept the content available only to a selected circle of family & friends. It was only when I got a surprised proposal at the Grand Canyon in ’07 and started planning for my wedding a year later that I started to share my thoughts and experiences more openly on the blog for posterity.
Reading past thoughts and events on the blog from my younger years has also allowed me to continually appreciate my present moments better.
In early 2011, I made a decision to quit an amazing career in the media industry in an attempt to start a family. Part of this blog became my ranting ground for fertility-related grouses (who would have thought producing an offspring would be that difficult?), and through that experience I was introduced to a community of like-minded, wonderful ladies who made me feel a lot less alone with my (in)fertility journey with their larger-than-life personalities.
In Jul 2011, the husband & I finally got our first BFP (read about it here). It was a dream come true and we were beyond excitement to be first-time parents. I started documenting more about our pregnancy adventures and my preparation for parenthood.
In early 2012, we said “Hello!” to our first addition whom we affectionately call “chungkin”. We were blessed with a very smooth & happy delivery that lasted under 6 hours, and seeing our newborn in our arms brought much joyful tears and thankfulness albeit some disbelief during the first embrace.
In Feb 2014, we were in utter disbelief and absolute joy to be pregnant with Chungkin #2. While it was tough managing Chungkin #1’s initial emotions and re-working logistics (which involved a big house move and a new routine for two kids), it has been a very rewarding albeit sometimes-harrowing experience since.
Inevitably the blog has grown to include stories, adventures and milestones of our little boys and my parenting journey as a SAHM, PTWM, FTWM…you get the idea.
These days, I tend to blog entirely based on my mood for the moment/day.
I hope that through my sharing, that you’ll be able to relate / be entertained / be inspired.
