I’m pretty amazed with myself.
I’ve been living a ‘sleep at 4am, wake up at 8am’ routine for the past week and it seems like the body has grown immune to this bad habit rather quickly.
Health has also taken a toll on me in the past week with fever and dull aches in the stomach; and it fascinates me how I’m still pretty much alive-and-kicking instead of laying still in some hospital bed.
And I’m not alone.
The husband has also been going through a very similar or worse routine than me in the past week with his share of work woes. And trust us, we’re praying very hard to get out of this vicious cycle.
But apart from all that monstrous work haunting our minds every spilt second, we are thankful for supportive family and glad we have each other for support. So to that, I shall just shut up and complain no more.
On the other extreme end of moods and situations, there’s been a lot of fun and happy things going on in our lives too.
Some 2 Sundays ago, the uni group bonded over a ‘shiok-a-licious’ hawker dinner at East Coast Park for BR’s farewell to Shanghai. And although I was going to miss her very much for the next few months, I was also very happy for her new adventure in life. 🙂 And because we couldn’t bear not being able to see BR for a while, we organized a Guitar Hero Pajamas Party @ Ning’s later that week (which started at 11.30pm so that all of us could make it) and rocked till 4am! Even the husband decided to join us in the fun.
We also maximized our first 3 weekends of 2010 by spending a lot of time time with different groups of family and friends. It was exhausting, but worth every second bonding and cherishing over good grub and beer. If any of my resolutions for 2010 was to ensure that I make more time for the people I cared about, I was definitely on track.
In the personal growth department, I’ve been faced with many decision-making moments in the past 23 days of the new year.
Some good ones, some not so good ones – all of which I could feel God’s presence within, calming and salvaging me.
And feeling that was good enough for me.
