The day has finally come when I am now unable to wear my engagement and wedding rings without putting up a few struggles against my skin and taking it off without the use of soap. I know I have to stop doing this soon, because the friction & discomfort annoys the freak out of me and the husband warns me how I really don’t want it yanked out of me someday by someone else because of my stubbornness. I guess I was just trying my luck to see how long I can delay it till…
I’ve also been told in the face like 5 times by an ex-colleague over a dinner gathering last night what I was looking way too
pudgy fat especially at my hips during dinner. He used to say how gorgeous he thinks women look when they’re pregnant (he’s not married yet) when I first spill news about being one, but yesterday was all about “oh man, you’re REALLY big / fat”. “Look at those thighs”, “What happened?”, “You’re really big man!” etc.
And let’s not forget how I’m only really just 2 weeks past 6 months (at 26 weeks) which means I’m not even into the 3rd trimester yet. Note to self: TRY to keep away from the cakes, cookies, ice-cream & scones as much as I can *tough call*.
Oddly though, the mil seems to be only one who seem to thinks that I’m obviously not eating enough for the 2 of us. Over a completely random conversation yesterday, she said “make sure you are eating because if you are eating then the baby will grow well” and when I responded “I’m eating…I am”, she echoed my reply in a doubtful manner and then went on to say “don’t make me nag at you” and threw me a stern look (seriously, that only works for her grandkids) as she walked away.
Don’t know what or who gave her that impression; but what I do know is that as a mom-to-be, I won’t deprive my little chungkin of the nutrition he needs. I guess it was one of mil’s off-days because today as I left the house, she was back to being herself again.
Perhaps the next time someone tells me that I’m looking more fat than pregnant, I should direct them to have a conversation with my mil instead. She may just have them think otherwise 🙂
