Thanks everyone for checking in on how I’ve been feeling – physically & emotionally – in the last 2 days. I really appreciate it.
Happy to report that my voice, albeit husky & sexy-sounding for the time being, is back (I can finally yak to my heart’s content again!) and nose isn’t dripping as much as it has been – at least during the whole of yesterday afternoon when I was out shopping with a friend at Taka & paragon :p (what? I really needed a breather out of the house, and I did feel much better plus I couldn’t miss out on grabbing some items with additional member’s discount)
My outbursts have also come to a halt, and I hope it’ll stay that way. Turns all out I needed was mom’s & Bo’s TLC big time – which I received lots of on Thursday – and a good 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I woke up Friday morning, feeling 70% of my old-self again, all chirpy & ready to conquer the world again. Double yay!
And while the cold & throat pains are slowly leaving me, 2 more annoying symptoms have taken its places instead – leaving me to feel more of a baby these days. Intensive coughs (that usually accompany the whole throat-nose-headache shebang) have led to embarrassing & uncontrollable urine leaks, thankfully with the first and worst episode happening in the comfort of my home toilet; and acid reflux so bad that I have to use 3 pillows to prop me in sitting up in bed when I sleep and despite all that, run to the loo for about a couple of times, squat by the bowl and just wait for it….to all come up.
The good news is that I’ve finally learnt what caused it! Milk just before bedtime and supper 😡 So that means no more late night snacks for baby & me and gaviscon instead of bedtime milk (which I actually thought would help counter acid reflux due to its alkaline properties…BS!) and hopefully that will allow me to have a better night’s rest.
Now…I’d just have to be more conscious of my uncontrollable bladder when I cough and what I wear these days then! Hopefully I won’t have anyone coming to tell me about any ‘wet spots’ on my clothes.
