Ahh..the days of couplehood. Oh how I reminisce. When all it took for travel plans to be firmed up was just a few text messages or a phone call between us. When spontaneous travelling and off-the-beaten track trips were celebrated because who cared if the accommodation we were putting up at wasn’t child friendly?
The Bo has been nagging about wanting to build a bigger nest egg for our little dude (who doesn’t?) now that Liam’s growing faster than the inflation of his salary, and with me being the sahm that he has to provide for mean certain sacrifices (sad but true). Thankfully my status of a PTWM has been extended and I couldn’t be happier with this whole work-and-baby gig going on. I love it!!! I love the people I work with. It’s crazy time management on my part but a challenge I’m willing to embrace to the fullest. The BR and Bo can’t help but agree how good this work thing has turned out to be – my drive is kinda back in top gear, I’m back to being the chatty, full-of-antics girl they missed.
And now that I’ve lifted some “coffee money” off the Bo’s shoulders and am adding more cheer and doing less “idle-talk”, what used to be a “we’ll see how” is now turning into a “I want to give you that holiday you want”. Not that I’m contributing anything, but I suppose seeing how focused I’ve run the house with proper time management and organization has impressed the Bo into agreement.
Mom & I spoke briefly over dinner today re. holiday plans too – I would love her to be with us and I know she’ll love to be around her grandson on his adventure far far away. So I guess … another sign? :)))))
Meanwhile, I can’t believe how much motherhood has aged me just by looking at these travel photos! I want that healthy glow back!
Have a smashin’ weekend. I pray that the weather continues to shine so that we can head to the park for some outdoor play!
