Some time back the Bo & I created an email account for our son. No, it wasn’t the wonderful idea of being able to write him emails that he can read when he’s older that sparked the action but rather we needed an email account to watch online streaming and we didn’t want to create another random ID that we couldn’t remember by. #wearesuchbadparentsright
Speaking of which, can you imagine the sort of mail he’s gonna receive from all our video streaming habits? Hmm.
Hence when the cousin mentioned on the blog today how she had set up an email account for her son (as a result of a chat with one of her swim mums) and I chanced upon this very witty and well-thought out posthumous letter from a mum to her daughter – I took it as a sign the universe was giving to me perhaps? Now, my son Liam will probably not have the patience to sit at his mac and read through this blog patiently (his future gf maybe?) unless I’m suddenly dead one day and hadn’t had the time to leave a lengthy letter dispensing some motherly advice or life’s lessons or have a long, hearty conversation with prior; or if he needs childhood photos for a graduation project or wedding montage (son, take the high resolution ones from the hard disks that your dad & I have been painstakingly backing up month after month into instead. He should know where he stores all the hardware). I guess now’s a good time to start huh?
I just hope from now till when the time comes, gmail is still active and the letters don’t end up in the vast abyss of cyberspace 😡
I love you very much son.
