TWO MONTHS. How did we get here so fast? One moment you’re this teeny weeny newborn, fresh from the oven and the next? Clocking in a good weight of 5.2kg and lengthening faster than your current age’s clothes will allow you?!
It’s been an amazing month. Your growth spurts, your crazy appetites, your tummy times, your “eh eh eh” to be carried upright (something your porpor conveniently started without realising that now all of us have to follow suit…); watching you grow day by day has been such a joy! So much so that it’s been tempting to reconsider being a temporary stay home mum like I was to your big brother for his first year. But we’ll see. While I enjoy my current work arrangement, I do know that your newborn and baby days will fly by too quickly. And with our new location & amenities, I’m pretty excited for all the activities that we could do together if we had the time!
It was also this month that I had the courage to take you out together with your big brother. We went to homes, malls and parks – places that I saw your curiosity peaking through those huge brown eyes. You especially loved being in the outdoors, like your brother. And seeing how much it stimulated you in such a good way made me want to take you out more.
You’re also particularly fascinated whenever your brother talks. You would coo at him as if in agreement. And in turn, he would talk even more. Such a cute duo. Through your baths – which is your favourite activity – you’ve encouraged your brother to enjoy bathing a lot more. He now splashes in your bath right after you’re done and can stay there for an hour singing songs and dancing in the tub. Oh the fun both of you will have in the tub next time.
I’m still not great at waking up for night feeds, there are times your papa has to nudge me to wake, but overall you’ve been patient. 🙂 We’re still doing the 3am and 6am nursing sessions, and I know I can seem pretty grumpy at times especially when I hit the sheets at 1am. Will work on the grumpy management part. 🙂
Happy two months to you roly-poly, and stay squishy. xo
